Our new partnership with John Jones is already creating lots of new opportunities for warehouse artists. One such opportunity is to be commissioned along with two other artists to create a new piece of work with recycled materials for a 2-stage project.

You will have the opportunity to exhibit your own work and to work with a local primary school to create a piece of art which will hang as an exhibition in conjunction with this year’s Panto at The Park Theatre, Finsbury Park.

Stage 1:

  • Stage 1 is an exhibition by 2-3 local artists.
  • The working title of the exhibition is MY SELF. It will be an exhibition that expresses you as an artist, your style, your ethos. It’s up to you how you portray this theme but it should be what you most want to share with the community about you and your work – something that really shows you off.
  • You will need to submit pieces that fit with this theme and then the best submissions will be selected in conjunction with meeting other application criteria.
  • This exhibition will hang from Oct 2nd- 25th November 2014.
  • The art will be available for sale to the general public with 10{4d1c512d884fb9dbaf49cb01cdf4a07fead812ed00fec48f41597a531f3d84bf} of sales being donated to Park Theatre.

Stage 2:

  • Stage 2 is to deliver a workshop to a local primary school or class who have booked to see our upcoming panto. The workshop can be either practical or a ‘top tips’ talk.
  • The class/ school will be attending this year’s Panto – Jack and The Beanstalk – a new version by Artistic Director Jez Bond and Associate Artist Mark Cameron. http://parktheatre.co.uk/whats-on/jack-and-thebeanstalk/about
  • We want the pupils to create 3-D artwork inspired by Jack and The Beanstalk and with guidance from an artist on using recycled materials to create art.
  • The Panto runs from 26th November 2014 – 4th January 2015. The exhibition will be on show from 26th November 2014 – 20th January 2015.

This is a unique opportunity to showcase your work, get involved with this exciting new theatre and inspire the creativity of local young people!
